- Serving for five years as the Chief Executive Officer of USA Canoe/Kayak, the national governing body for competitive paddlesports under the umbrella of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee

- Paddling 113 miles with friends on a non-stop sea kayak expedition from Havana, Cuba to Key West, Florida
